At Butcombe, we’ve always dedicated ourselves to making the very best beers we can. Whether it’s our iconic Original session beer or our coveted Rare Breed pale ale, we’ve brought the ‘great’ back to Great British Brewing.
What begins in our pubs, however, has a funny habit of finding its way into your home via our range of premium bottled beers.
Over the years, we’ve been delighted to release Original, Rare Breed, Gold and Goram in beautiful 500ml bottles – ideal for those times when the pub is just out of reach.
Today though, we have the distinct pleasure of welcoming a new format to our drink-at-home family – 330ml cans.
Sitting beautifully in your hand and with our gorgeous Butcombe branding emblazoned across their faces, our new can range is perfect for the park, those lazy days in the garden or simply for relaxing by the television.
But what beers have we chosen to headline this new range?
First up is Goram, our tribute to the legendary giant of Bristolian history who passed out from too much beer during a race to win the affections of a beautiful woman.
Huge on flavour, this Avon IPA utilises a secret blend of American and Worcester hops to achieve the perfect balance between stone fruit, citrus and spicy hop aromas with bitter notes.
It’s a strong, full-flavoured beer with a 5% ABV, placing it firmly in ‘classic session ale’ territory, and the perfect choice to grace our new range of canned beers.
But with Goram already available outside of our pubs, we decided to take a different tack for our other canned beer and release a beer not yet in the home. We chose Bohemia.
Bohemia started life as a frustration at the pale imitations of great European lagers being sold across Britain. So, we did what any good brewer would – we made our own.
A genuine English Pilsner, Bohemia is brewed with softened water that we bottom ferment for longer, with Pilsner malt and noble Czech hops. Next, we leave the beer for 4-6 weeks cold conditioning to produce a refreshing, dry beer with delicate spicy, citrus and grassy notes.
We think it’s nothing short of a modern classic and we’re truly delighted to welcome this 4.7% ABV lager to our growing family of canned beers, two years after we first introduced it to our pubs.
But where can you pick up these incredible brews? Why, through our brewery store, of course!
So why wait? The revolution will be canned.
