Inspired by the year we founded our brewery, these sci-fi cans from our ’78 range give us a chance to have little fun and showcase our craft brewing skills outside of our classic range.
Invader – The game changing beer
1978 saw the release of Space Invader, the arcade game that changed the world with its iconic game play and design. Today it remains a totem for a generation, taking us back to a simpler time, where saving the universe came in 8 bit and a handful of small change could last you the night. To celebrate this game-changer we’ve created a beer that’s a classic in its own right.
Cool fermented and conditioned cold for longer makes this a strong, malty lager. With a light amber colour and sweet, malt, biscuit character, the clean ferment ensures a crisp, dry finish with soft spicy German hop undertones. Beat the end of level boss and toast your success with Invader.
Forty Two – A beer to answer the ultimate question
In 1978, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy revealed the answer to the ultimate, question of life, the universe and everything as the number 42. To celebrate Deep Thoughts’ deepest thought we’ve created a beer that’s *ahem* out of this world.
Black as space in the glass, DON’T PANIC! This beer – due to some rather clever brewing – has no burnt malt astringency. Packed full of Galaxy hops, there’s plenty of roasted and caramel characters to balance the huge hopping rate of this very drinkable session ale. The perfect beer for Arthur Dents’ across the solar system.
We created our 1978 Range in homage to the year of our birth. These new beers give us a chance to be creative and experiment with brewing outside of our classic range. Invader and Forty Two will allow us to access new markets and showcase our craft credentials and we’re sure these beers will be as successful as the cultural classics which inspired them!
Enjoy & Cheers!
