The Big Reveal - The Castle Inn Lulworth

We’ve been busy behind the scenes here on a little DIY project…

The Castle Inn joined the Butcombe family in late 2017 and has recently undergone an extensive makeover to restore it to its full Great British pub glory. Located just a short walk from some of Dorset’s key landmarks, the 16th century pub is a local’s favourite, a tourist gem and a dog walkers dream. We’ve worked our way from top to bottom retaining the pubs traditional, historical features like the iconic thatched roof and wood panelling. We’ve kept the bar as the focal point (as it should be!) standing proud in the centre of the pub.

The dining area has been extended to create a bright and open space for the perfect dining experience, whether you’re popping in for a light bite at lunch or booking a romantic evening dinner for two. Taking care of the food is head chef Ashley Walcott who has will be serving up a daily-changing market menu focusing on the best of Dorset’s produce (all from within 30 miles of the pub!) and the best fresh seafood from around the cove.

Alongside the main pub area all 12 of the rooms have been individually designed to create a laid-back luxury feel with unique touches and sleek en-suite bathrooms. Even your furry family members are welcome too with 6 of the rooms being dog-friendly.

We’d like to say a massive thank you to all the builders, contractors and suppliers who have helped The Castle Inn find it’s magic again. If you can’t make it to Dorset yourself pop on over to their website for a 360° tour!
