Beer Backstory: Rain or Shine

March 26, 2019

Spring has officially sprung and here at Butcombe we can’t help but get swept up in the excitement of it all.

Winter is behind us and all throughout the land beer gardens are being prepared for the influx of cheery punters ready to bask in that famously brilliant English spring sunshine.

Or, at least, that’s the dream. The reality? Well, English weather can be just a little temperamental. From stunning sunshine to thumping rain and back again within an hour, you really never can rely on the weather to do what you want.

As topsy turvy as the weather might be though, we wouldn’t change it for the world.

Britain’s changeable springtime weather provides ideal conditions for the huge variety of flora found throughout our gorgeous country, bringing everything in sight back to its vital, beautiful best – just in time for the more consistent heat and sunshine of summer.

More than that though, it’s inspired us to create an all-new ale in tribute – Rain or Shine.

A light and crisp ale with stunning citrus flavours, Rain or Shine evokes golden sunsets sinking over the luscious Bristolian countryside and makes for the perfect pint, regardless of what the weather’s up to.

With malty, citrus fruit scents and a taste that offers a delectable balance of malty and fruity tones. Quite simply, this 4% ABV citra blonde ale is a stoning tribute to Britain’s life-giving, spirit raising and firmly unpredictable weather.

Rain or Shine is now available in Butcombe pubs across the UK, so why not slip on a pair of shorts, throw on a rain mac and join us for a delicious pint of Rain or Shine, whatever the weather.
