Cossington, nr. Bridgwater TA7 8LN
Tel – 01278 722333
Dates back to the early 18th century when it
was known as The Cossington Inn.
Originally a thatched building it was tiled
during the 19th century at the height of the Bridgwater tile
industry boom, and was apparently renamed The Red Tile by
the American pilots in World War 2 who used it’s distinctive
roof as a sighting point when bringing their Typhoon fighters
in off the Bristol Channel to Westonzoyland airport.
Acquired by Butcombe Brewery - 1998.
